The cuisine of The United States is a rich amalgamation of people, religions and cultures. Thanks to the immigrants from different parts of the world.  They brought with them their local ingredients as well as cooking styles with them.  

During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods. What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Refined Flour 3¼ cups +
Milk 1 teaspoon
Fresh yeast dissolved in water 15 grams
Sugar ¼ cup
Milk ¾ cup
Butter softened 110 grams
Oil to deep fry

 Chocolates ¹/² cup

Butter 1 cube

White chocolate


Step 1
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well in the center of the mixture, add yeast water, sugar and milk. Break egg and add and mix well. Add butter and mix well. Knead this mixture into a soft dough. Cover the bowl with a muslin cloth and set aside for 1- 1½ hours.
Step 2
Knock back the dough, dust with refined flour and refrigerate for 4-5 hours. Knock back the dough again. Roll out the dough to about one inch thickness. Stamp out one and a half inch rounds with a doughnut cutter.
Step 3
Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the doughnuts on medium heat till golden brown.

Step 4

Melt chocolate in a double boiler and add butter.Mix well.

Step 5

Now dip one side of doughnut.into the Chocolate and then refrigerate it for sometime.

Step 6

Once set, decorate with white chocolate.Transfer the doughnuts on a serving plate and serve immediately.
